Councillor Martin Hayes has donated a complete cinema setup to BCC – Brandlesholme Community Centre, the kit includes an 85 Inch screen, LED Projector and speaker system which will help the centre provide more events in the near future. The People’s Voice Community Group Limited (A Six Town TRA) who operate the centre voluntarily had asked for the system so that they can have movie nights at a much more affordable cost to customers than cinemas charge, thereby removing any financial barriers that would prevent a family from socialising. The group hope to be able to make the best use of the equipment by holding outdoor movies and being available to use for third parties who hire the room such as training courses.
Cllr Hayes had donated over £250 worth of equipment to the groups Chair, Emma Baker and Vice Chair, Brent-James Pinder from his Discretionary Councillors budget, having seen the great work that the committee are doing in Brandlesholme and surrounding communities. This is a whopping 150% increase on Martin’s 2018 donations to the centre and is a continuation of the ongoing support that Elton Labour offer to the group.
