Susan Southworth has been meeting with residents along with candidate Charlotte Morris, starting the new campaigning season for 2019 Councillor Susan Southworth & Charlotte Morris meeting residents on the doorstep

Councillor Susan Southworth and Elton candidate Charlotte Morris, have been leading up a team of Labour activists around Westcombe Drive for one of the first campaigning sessions of 2019, explaining to local residents why Elton needs a new, young and determined candidate like Charlotte Morris as a local councillor who would be able to align with existing ward Labour Councillors, Susan Southworth and Martin Hayes to best represent the people of Elton within Bury Council. The bitter January weather didn’t even stop the team from finding the issues that residents might have about the ward and offering guidance. This was in addition to hearing plenty of questions from residents worries about the way the government is causing chaos with Brexit, residents comments on our Bury North MP, James Frith, who has finally given the constituency a voice in parliament and concerns about how national cuts to local authorities and the public sector are sending the country into crisis. Moorside’s Councillor Sarah Southworth was arranging the team and keeping the volunteers on track to ensure our message was reaching every resident. Councillor Lucy Smith had even taken time away from her ward of Besses to spread the word that Elton Labour is here to help.
