This month has seen ‘The Pitch’ return to Bury West, members of the public along with our councillors joined together to vote on which of the eleven projects deserved community funding. After votes had been verified, Cllr Southworth confirmed the winners. The successful pitches got over £12k together with some of the funds being given to projects in Elton, like Brandlesholme Residents Association’s pitch for £1,500 towards improving access to the renowned path known locally as “Brangy Dip”, Woodbank Cricket Club also received £1,500 to increase their fun sports and exercise programme for local people of all abilities and our ward schools. Bury2gether, which has recently found a home in Brandlesholme, also received £1,500 towards running the forum, support groups, workshops and leisure activities for families of children with special educational needs and disabilities (S.E.N.D.). Six additional projects also received funding.
