James Frith MP hosts Bury North EqualiTeas event
To celebrate 90 years since the Representation of the People (Equal Franchise) Act became law in 1928, which finally gave men and women over 21 years old the equal right to vote. James hosted his “EqualiTeas” Tea party at Freedom Church, Walmsley.
Why a Tea Party?
Tea parties were historically used by women for suffrage campaigning, a central tea room where women could talk politics, raise funds and discuss tactics freely without the presence of men.
