Stop the closure of the Prestwich and Bury walk in centres

Dear Comrade
Bury Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is proposing to close our two NHS Walk In Centres (WICs)  in Bury and Prestwich as a means to save £800,000. The Bury walk in centre at Moorgate (Bardoc) alone sees around 67,000 patients per annum.
It is evidently well used and serves as an alternative to health care via a GP surgery or A&E department, both of which are also under huge pressure.

As Labour members cannot simply allow the CCG to close one of our primary ways of accessing health care. The repercussions would be felt across GP practices and A&E, and it would severely impact the health service provision for members of the public in Bury.
We will be holding a street stall to continue our petition (of which we currently have over 3,000 signatures) and we will be supported by local MP's and MEP's.
The details are ;-
Saturday 10th September from 12 pm onwards
The Rock, Bury (facing Barista)
Trevor Holt 07928224716
Sandra Walmsley 07793628266
Please come along and join us to help get the message out and collect more signatures. Contact details above. Sign the petition here.
If you, or a member of your family, has used this service, or if you just feel very strongly about this issue,  then you know how vital it is that we do everything possible to make our feelings known to the CCG.
We hope to see as many of you as possible on Saturday.
Susan Southworth
Chair Bury North CLP
