Cleaning up Pigs Lee Brook

Ramblers Natasha Hargreaves and Dan Ngbeken were disappointed to find fly tipped rubbish on one of their regular walks in Moorside ward via Pigs Lee Brook.

The fly tipping included rolled up carpet ends and a 3 piece suite. Natasha said: "We were out walking and stumbled across what looked like a van load of house clearance furniture. We couldn't believe our eyes, it was such a blight on the local environment".

Moorside Councillor Sandra Walmsley commented: "This type of blatant fly tipping is not acceptable and shows a complete disregard to the local community, wildlife and the environment. This flagrant breach of the law will not be tolerated and Bury Council will investigate each case to find the people responsible." Bury Council's cleansing team later removed the rubbish.

Natasha and Dan are pictured walking via Pigs Lee Brook towards Chesham Woods.
